Resolution isn't accuracy
Resolution is what the display can show you. Accuracy is what you can trust. Check the accuracy spec against your print, not the resolution number on the box.
IP ratings
What the rating actually covers
IP54 handles dust and light splashing. IP65 adds water jets and finer dust. IP67 survives a coolant bath. If it lives at the spindle, it needs IP67.
Data output
When Bluetooth is worth it
Bluetooth pays for itself when the reading needs to land in an SPC log or report. If a checkmark on a traveler is the whole job, it's more caliper than the job needs.
Common questions
A caliper slides along a full measuring range for general parts. A caliper gage is built for one specific feature, like an internal groove or bore, and won't measure outside that narrow range.
