First impressions, a good value.

Just recently got this, so this is really a “first impressions” review. I have a few other Fowler tools, and have been generally pleased with them. The readout resolves down to 5 tenths, it’s either showing 5 tenths, or is blank (nothing displayed) as in 0.123 or 0.1235 so that last decimal position is not really useful, is it? Don’t quite know what to make of it. Anyhow, in metric mode it’s down to two places right of decimal. It shipped with two CR2032 coin cells, a couple of spare screws for the battery compartment cover (nice touch, thanks !) and a bitty Phillips screwdriver! The plastic case is a bit odd, I’m not sure how many times open and close the lid will take before the plastic “hinge” finally gives up. All in all, I’ll keep this unit. Demoted one star due to odd tenths decimal position behavior.Edit May 8: Fixed “Senior Moment” on readout places to right of decimal.

Dead on arrival

Product dosen't work out of box. Won't power up with a 3.36 volt battery. Plunger gets stuck in different positions. This was a new product purchase.

Good indicator

Sometimes Fowler can let you down, some products are great some not so great. This one is ok, functions nice and smooth. Numbers don’t bounce around, even comes with an extra battery.

Dead battery

Battery provided with indicator was dead, had to buy a new one before I could use it. Would have rated higher if provided a good battery.
