FAST, Lab grade accurate inspection for big parts

High‑Performance Linear‑Drive Motion

  • Frictionless linear motors: Linear drives provide smooth, silent motion with no mechanical contact, enhancing speed and suitability for contact scanning.

  • Kinematic isolated drive: Motor thrust is applied through the centre of gravity, improving speed and accuracy while keeping heat away from the metrology frame.

  • Optimised bridge design: Carbon‑fibre components and an optimised split Y‑axis carriageway deliver a high stiffness‑to‑weight ratio and reduce acceleration‑induced metrology errors

X-Axis Range Options

800mm, 1000mmm

Y-Axis Range Options

1000mm, 1200mm, 1600mm, 2000mm

Z-Axis Range Options

Exceptional Accuracy & Stability

  • First‑term error under 2 µm: When fitted with Renishaw probes, the Horizon offers first‑term volumetric error below two microns.

  • Thermally isolated motors: Linear motors are isolated from the granite structure to prevent heat from affecting measurements.

  • Automatic temperature compensation: Built‑in compensation ensures results are reported as if measured at 20 °C, improving accuracy in variable environments

Reliability & Low Maintenance

  • No wearing parts: Non‑contact linear motors have no mechanical wear, boosting long‑term reliability and reducing maintenance requirements.

  • Granite table and Y‑axis rail: Granite provides thermal stability; the rail and drive system are designed to keep heat away from encoders.

  • Durable accessories: Each machine comes with an industrial joystick and free stylus change rack for motorised probe heads.

Sizing and Probe Options

  • Multiple measuring volumes: Horizon models offer Y‑axis travels of 1,000 mm or 1,600 mm, while Horizon L adds additional Y-axis options of 1,200mm or 2,000mm

  • Probe and accessory choices: Users can select various Renishaw probes, automation interfaces, camera systems, for example:

    -- RTP20 indexing probe head

-- PH10T motorized head; this can carry TP20 or TP200 probes for touch‑trigger measurement

-- PH10M motorized head with SP25 scanning probe for continuous scanning

-- PH6M probe mount (also used with the SP25 scanning probe)

--A camera‑based vision system is available as an option; it allows non‑contact measurement and quick swapping between probe and camera.

  • The Horizon can be supplied with any Renishaw touch‑trigger probe and probe head, so customers can choose other Renishaw options if required.

  • Shop‑floor suitability: Designed for inspection rooms or production environments; granite table supports loads up to 1,000 kg.

The Horizon uses the same software as all of our CMMs - Aberlink3D

Often overlooked, the software ease-of-use is a critical component of a successful CMM inspection process - and making it easy for all team members to learn & use.

No Annual Fees!!

Expect modern & intuitive software with your CMM... without annual fees!

  • Visual measurement model – Aberlink 3D builds a 3D representation of the part as you measure, allowing you to click features to call up dimensions like they appear on drawings.

  • Automatic feature recognition – Automatic routines and feature recognition handle 2D/3D inspection (manual or CNC) for geometric and free‑form shapes.

  • Simple programming – Teach‑and‑repeat routines and a drag‑and‑drop editor let you create or edit programs without learning code.

  • Safe moves & auto‑programming – The software automatically generates safe moves and saves inspection routines for future parts.

  • Flexible reporting – Generate drawing‑style GD&T reports, pass/fail summaries or batch and SPC reports, then export to Excel.

  • CAD comparison – Import STEP/IGES models, align point clouds and display colour‑coded deviations with best‑fit routines.

  • CAD programming – Click on surfaces in a CAD model to define measurement points; Feature Predict identifies planes, circles or cylinders.
  • Vision integration – A kinematic joint lets you swap between probe and camera quickly; the vision module offers automatic edge detection and smart‑measure tools.
