The HS line of horizontal setting benches

Four models. One approach: faster, more accurate gage setting.

Stop stacking gage blocks. Set gages

in under a minute.

The Trimos HS series replaces gage block stacks with a continuous measuring scale — so setting a bore gage, beam gage, or micrometer takes seconds, not 15 minutes, with better accuracy every time.

STACKING GAGE BLOCKS HS SETTING BENCH
15 minutes per setup Under 1 minute
Uncertainty grows with every block added Single continuous reference, no accumulation
Large sets required for wide size ranges Any size in range, instantly
Handling risk, blocks are easily damaged One robust bench handles everything
Results vary by operator and stack technique Repeatable, consistent from operator to operator

Built for production floors where gage setup time adds up fast.

Any shop running bore gages, beam gages, or micrometers on large-scale parts knows the problem: setting those gages accurately and quickly is a constant friction point. The bigger the part, and the wider the size range, the more headaches when it comes to using gage blocks.

The HS series was designed specifically for manufacturers working with larger-scale parts (40" and up), where gage block stacks become impractical and measurement uncertainty from stacking becomes a real quality risk. Aerospace, oil and gas, heavy trucking, large-bore machining — these are the shops where an HS bench pays for itself quickly.

Because it's a standalone bench that runs on battery or power supply, the HS integrates directly onto the production floor without needing a dedicated lab environment or controlled temperature room.

Common concerns when using gage blocks for calibration

Stacking

Stacking twenty gage blocks to reach a 20" dimension takes time, care, and still introduces compounding uncertainty at every interface.

Large Blocks

Large gage block sets are expensive, fragile, and require their own careful storage and calibration schedule.

Different Operators

Different operators stack differently — resulting in inconsistent gage settings and subtle variation in parts that shouldn't vary.

Temperature Concerns

When production runs hot and gages need to be reset multiple times per shift, the 15-minutes-per-setup tax becomes a real throughput problem.

HS Horizontal Setting Bench Lineup

HS3

MOTORIZED · WORKSHOP SETTING
The newest addition to the HS line is a motorized setting bench designed for rapid setting and zeroing of variable-dimension gages directly on the production floor. ISO-compliant calibration capable. Instant startup, rugged electronics built for industrial environments.

HS4

MANUAL · FULL-RANGE SETTING
The HS4 covers the widest range in the HS line up to 3050 mm, making it the go-to for manufacturers setting large-bore gages, beam gages, and micrometers on large-scale parts. Manual carriage with fine adjustment for precise positioning.

Measuring range 550–3050 mm (20–120")

HS5

MOTORIZED · FULL-RANGE SETTING
Same range and accuracy as the HS4 with a motorized carriage for faster, more consistent positioning. If your operators are setting gages frequently throughout the shift, the HS5's motorization reduces fatigue and speeds up the workflow meaningfully.

HS6

SETTING + CALIBRATION CAPABILITY
The HS6 does everything the HS 4/5 do — and steps into calibration-grade territory. Tighter repeatability (0.2 µm) and a dramatically lower measuring force (3 N vs. 15 N) make it suitable for calibration tasks as well as setting. The bridge between the HS and HC lines.
