Fowler XTender 1.4" to 6" Dial Bore Gage Set

Missing parts right out of the box. I didn't open this right away because I thought it was going to be high quality and I did need to use it right off the bat.So I opened the box and some of the pieces are missing. I go to use it and it doesn't really work like it's supposed to.I'm out of my return window so I'm stuck with a piece of junk. I guess I could use the dial indicator for something.

To start with they couldn't spell the word "gauge" correctly so who knows if this tool is even accurate. Seems like any other Chinese bore gauge.

Fowler used to be a great made in the US tool company, but not any longer. This bore gauge is made in China (no shock, right) and is identical to most others of the same type for less money. The adjustable +/- pointers (see photo) fell off even before I used the gauge, couldn't get them back on again so I sent it back and purchased the Neoteck Bore Gage Set Digital Indicator Dial Bore Gauge (2"-6"/0.0005". Same exact gauge except its a digital display and it's deadly accurate. The positive is, the Neoteck gauge was $50 cheaper. I'm very happy with the Neoteck (also made in China) over the Fowler and highly recommend the Neoteck.

Parts are missing so either refund me or send parts that are missing

I bought 2 sets and both are missing multiple anvils. Useless and wasted my time buying these twice hoping the second would be complete. L

When I opened the box, the indicator pointers were loose in the box. Cant seem to snap back on. Slightly disappointed. Everything else seems to work as it should

Fowler can't even spell Gauge. It is labeled as a Cylinder "GAIGE"..... Junk

I really wanted to like this gauge. Can't comment on the operation because I won't be opening it. I feel like this maybe a true Fowler dial gauge and everything else is knock off. The anvils, the handle, the spacers and the case do not say Fowler. The dial gauge itself is the only piece that says Fowler even. I would suggest buying from a different seller.

Dial indicator came cracked. Overall good packaging and hard case. TBD on accuracy but overall seems like solid construction.

Looks like a quality tool and im still excited to use it. Just a little pissed that they forgot two pieces...

Super fast shipping, great communication throughout the process, stellar customer service. The bore gauge is awesome, super easy to use accurate and a nice protective case. The accuracy is so great I couldn’t believe my eyes. A machine shop passed my engine block, I re-checked with the Fowler bore gauge, the block failed. I now have conflicting data. I take the block to a second machine shop, they too use a Fowler guage, the block failed. I ask the machinist to re-check using a different brand, it the block failed. Fowler is the best for measuring when accuracy is key to success.

I bought this to measure all the bores on my old Ford 400 block, and every anvil and shim that came with my kit is not to size. Measured each anvil is 0.019”-0.021” bigger than the cited size, and every shim was 0.001”-0.004” undersized for each cited dimension. It was pretty disappointing and was a cause of a lot of headache for me. It still worked great after I figured out the actual size of everything but it was more than annoying. Do check your tools friends.

This is a good quality brand name, as always if says fowler on it ,you know its a well built tool. You will also receive the calibration test results and certified accuracy stamp. Those not sure what that means, any tool that has those papers with tool ,it can be used on critical jobs that require test and certificate the forms will have the serial # to that specific tool.Guess what im saying is , its a great priced bore gauge that is certified for quality and precision

Good tools for the $

This product works well and is decent quality. Likely not as good as the high dollar brands but for a hobby guy building the odd engine it works well.

Nice tool, works well. One of the screws on the protective plastic cover was cross threaded but I didn't realize until after exchange window closed. Still happy with the tool for the price.
